If upgrade 3 is required then I should probably go ahead and download the latest Solaris 10, which is 8/07? I have read about Live Upgrade but that appears to need a spare disk partition, which I don't have. Even new Solaris is open to exploit without patches. Original Solaris 10 has a well known zero day exploit

I intentionally didn't upgrade on the "bleeding edge" but then waited longer than intended. Part of my concern is moving beyond my laptop's capabilities. Question: Is anyone here running Gutsy on a Thinkpad R40? Any concerns or thoughts? If not, can someone remind me of the safest way to upgrade?

Win 98SE upgrade question
You'll have to do an in-place upgrade, but you don't have the XP disks. If all you have is a recovery partition on your HDD, you should back that up to CD asap and keep it safe. You may have to do a complete reinstall from the recovery partition, but since you don't say what you got, only what you didn't get,

General Upgrade question
I have the same question (will an upgrade help anything in for normal driving, not high rev racing) but my car has a points/condensor ignition. I know the upgrade will remove those parts as part of a tune up but I also assume mileage and power may improve slightly as I can get a hotter spark.

Upgrade question
My question: how do I determine if my panel has the capacity to upgrade existing circuits (I intend to verify I have 12 gauge wiring for the 20 amp upgrade), or for that matter, the capacity to add new ones? Are there any other issues I should address? Basically, if the panel has empty slots then it has the

I have two questions. My first question is this. I have a copy of Win98SE. Would another method be to use a windows boot disk with Win98 system files? I am assuming that all Win XP

BE6(v1) and Celeron upgrade question
Unless you have replaced them outright with a new full product (not an upgrade one) then you may not transfer the license (by sale or any other means) as they too are now part of the later products license. I hope that is clear. If not please get back with further questions. -- Regards, Mike -- Mike Brannigan [MS]

Would like to upgrade the video to something like an FX 5200 128MB, or FX 5600 256MB. No chance for an upgrade.
